Manager, Solution Engineering (Java) – Pune, MH, India

We are looking for a seasoned Manager, Solution Engineering, to lead a team of developers in building secure, scalable, and cloud-native payment solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, hands-on experience with Java, Spring boot, Microservices, AWS Services/Azure, Distributed Systems, API Design and the ability to align business goals with innovative technical solutions.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional developer team, providing guidance, support, and fostering growth.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, QA, DevOps, and UX to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Champion engineering excellence through agile practices, rigorous code reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Own end-to-end technical delivery of features and systems, from requirements to deployment.
  • Translate high-level requirements into technical solutions and delegate effectively.
  • Identify and resolve technical debt and system inefficiencies proactively.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of milestones.
  • Implements processes to ensure strong operational hygiene for all components and systems in Case Management transformation.
  • Delivers projects in compliance domain, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Manages the roadmap for a scrum team, Owns end-to-end technical delivery of features and systems, from planning through deployment.
  • Leads the transformation of fault-tolerant systems that handle high transaction volumes and ensure accurate regulatory reporting.
  • Ensuring systems comply with financial regulations through checks, controls, transaction monitoring, and data reconciliation.
  • Lead efficient data modelling for complex regulatory reporting and analytics.
  • Integrates emerging technologies like AI, ML, and digital assets into case management and transaction monitoring capabilities.
  • Collaborates with direct team, managers, and stakeholders such as Product Owners and PMO
  • Designs and maintains architecture for available, secure and compliant applications and services.
  • Defines and enforces coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices.
  • Evaluates and recommends tools, frameworks, and technologies based on business needs.
  • Breaks down high-level requirements into technical solutions and delegate effectively.
  • Identifies and addresses technical debt and system inefficiencies proactively.
  • Ensures timely delivery of milestones while maintaining quality.
  • Understands monolithic and microservices architectures and distributed systems.
  • Has strong people management skills with focus on team development and retention
  • Has excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audience
  • Has good knowledge of security best practices and information security

 Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, IT, or similar preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of modern architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven, cloud-native).
  • Experience in Java, Spring boot, Microservices, AWS Services (ECS, EC2, API Gateway, Load balancers)/AZURE, Distributed Systems, API Design.
  • Good skill on database design, data modeling, front end experience is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD tools.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams with strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and evangelize architectural concepts to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies with emphasis on Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (Continuous Delivery).
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Experience with distributed systems, API design, and data modeling.
