Senior Architect, Software Engineering (Western Union, LLC, Denver, CO)
Work with engineering and business partners to define and build out complex solutions driving value through business process simplification, automation and new product capabilities and innovation. Demonstrate strong capabilities in assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards. Spearhead and perform software evaluations, proof of concepts and define the recommended solutions. Lead product solutioning end to end for new innovations with iterative improvements. Define end to end technical solutions including enhancements to existing systems, development of new systems, designing user interfaces, designing databases, data flows, data dictionaries, alternative or new workflows, hardware, or technology upgrade. Oversee adoption of new technology acquisition, including performing some hands-on engineering implementation. Analyze, translate and document requirements into highly specified system requirements for implementation, integration, and support of the enterprise information systems. Document and communicate end-to-end solution approach by using suitable tools, techniques, templates, and diagrams. Provide expert level guidance on the middleware software solutions leveraged in Customer and Partner Servicing, including but not limited to IVR/IVA platforms. Collaborate with peer and cross functional teams across the globe. Strong emphasis on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting and continuous development. Provide mentoring and coaching to Software Architects, Senior Associate, Associate and Junior Associate software engineers. Be a culture champion on the team and across the company. Travel required up to 10% of the time to domestic & international client sites for workshops and work meetings. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to Western Union, LLC at 7001 E Belleview Ave., Denver, CO 80237. Salary: $164,112 to $236,176 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as a Software Architect, or any occupation/job title/position performing middleware systems architecture, design, and development.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Architect, or any occupation/job title/position performing middleware systems architecture, design, and development.
Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience architecting, designing, developing, and integrating middleware solutions with medium to large mission critical applications; 5 years of professional experience performing API design, development, and integration including REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and Web API; 5 years of professional experience performing agile application development with supported tools including Jira and Confluence; 5 years of professional experience utilizing Messaging middleware including Tibco, Mule and N-Service Bus; 5 years of professional experience utilizing code configuration management including GIT; 5 years of professional experience performing SQL and PLSQL programming and RDMS implementations for SQL Server and Oracle; 4 years of professional experience performing system designs in business event-driven transactions; 3 years of professional experience utilizing IVA and other automation platforms to implement Call Center Flows; 2 years of professional experience developing architecture visions with IT and business leaders; 2 years of professional experience implementing shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows as well as ensuring projects do not duplicate functionality and diverge from each other and business and IT strategies; and 2 years of professional experience developing Cloud based Java applications.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $164,112 – $236,176 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
