Computer Network Architect (Western Union, LLC, Denver, CO)

Architect the computer network for Inter-company and Intra-corporate services.  Build and test optimal telecommunications networks and related processes, including hosting Internet, advertising the DNS and securing with firewalls. Study current telecom cost in depth and propose alternative methods to reduce cost and improve service quality. Build resilient network utilizing devices and products from Cisco, F5, and checkpoint. Provide configuration and verification for any DDOS or malicious traffic entering network. Create plan for automatic rollout of software for any outstanding vulnerabilities and remediate the open issues. Document the network topology for the LAN/WAN and build the scalable solutions by adapting new technologies with enterprise offices, call centers, and remote offices leveraging and coordinating with telecom carriers. Monitor and troubleshoot the system issue related to Load Balancer, Routers, Switches, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, VoIP, and Cloud. Administer network tools for the effective operation and reliable connectivity to internet, customers, vendors, and employees. Propose and test the use of new products in markets and build it in strategy for Infrastructure as Code. Propose advanced automation methods for managing multiple cloud and datacenter infrastructure. Salary: $161,158 – $224,849.22 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Network Engineer, Solutions Architect, or other occupation/position/job title involving networking and telecom.

Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience working with the cisco command line, F5 GUI, Checkpoint Smart console, ethernet cables, and modules that communicate between devices to configure, monitor, and maintain network devices; 5 years of professional experience designing and implementing LAN/WLAN/WAN environments traversing multiple platforms, supporting Enterprise Infrastructure teams on projects including engineering and implementing new and upgrading existing network hardware, code certification and keeping the network secure through tactical organizational change; 5 years of professional experience overseeing installation and configuration of relevant network and telecom components per design; 5 years of professional experience recommending technical improvements and solutions that improve business efficiency, quality and process while maximizing functionality; 5 years of professional experience executing and deploying change management methodologies for network and wireless systems; and 5 years of professional experience utilizing HTTP, JSON, and Java/J2EE.

Annual base salary gross:  $161,158 – $224,849.22 USD. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union’s total compensation package for employees.
