The Retail and Digital Marketing Director is a leadership role responsible for driving the region’s go-to-market strategy, customer acquisition, and revenue growth across all retail and digital channels. The Marketing Director role will also handle the pricing strategy and execution for both digital and retail market. This role combines strategic marketing leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives while delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Director will lead a multicultural team and oversee marketing strategy, revenue management, and digital innovation to maximize profitability and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Revenue Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives and deliver measurable revenue growth.
- Own P&L accountability for marketing initiatives, ensuring profitability through effective pricing and revenue management practices.
- Define and implement consumer pricing strategies to optimize margins and market competitiveness.
- Identify growth opportunities in existing markets and lead go-to-market plans for new business launches.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture by leading, mentoring, and motivating cross-functional teams.
Digital Marketing & Omni-Channel Excellence
- Champion digital marketing initiatives, leveraging paid performance channels to optimize customer acquisition costs (CAC) and improve ROI.
- Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies, enhancing brand loyalty and lifetime customer value.
- Standardize technology solutions across retail channels to deliver consistent agent and customer experience.
- Stay ahead of digital trends and competitor activities, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Expand digital and product offering to target new customer segments.
Customer Experience & Loyalty
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local stakeholders, including financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and technology providers.
- Foster strong relationships with key company clients (large agent networks) to deepen engagement and drive long-term loyalty.
- Define and execute customer experience and loyalty strategies to strengthen engagement and retention.
- Develop best practices, toolkits, and loyalty programs to maximize revenue from marketing across all channels.
Performance, operational excellence and compliance
- Set clear KPIs for the country’s Marketing operations and ensure regular monitoring and reporting.
- Provide analytical solutions across the region to improve business performance and optimize marketing effectiveness.
- Analyze business performance, customer feedback, and market trends to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
- Adapt quickly to changing market conditions and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement and oversee robust processes and systems to optimize productivity and service delivery.
Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, sales, product development, operations, legal and compliance to ensure alignment and impact.
- Build internal networks and connect with senior leaders across the company and the central functions.
- Inspire and mentor teams to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Role Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in marketing roles including leadership positions, with exposure to the Middle East region preferred.
- Proven track record in marketing strategy development, revenue management, and digital marketing.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in multicultural environments.
- Expertise in paid performance channels and digital marketing optimization.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and execute strategic plans for business growth and new market entry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, management, transformation or a related field.
- Proficiency in digital tools (including analytics), platforms, and e-commerce technologies.
- An understanding of technologies is a must.
- Expertise in omni-channel retail and digital product delivery.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Visionary, results-driven, adaptable, and collaborative with a passion for innovation and growth.
- Able to have transparent and productive relationships with peers and collaborate successfully across the organization.
- Ability to be a company-wide change-agent who influences strategic actions and mindset changes.
- Self-starter with a proactive, results-driven mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and multicultural teams in a fast-paced, matrix organization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
