Role Responsibilities
In this role as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be reporting to the APAC Finance head and play a key role in supporting the Western Union APAC region’s financial planning, working with country and regional leads on finance business partnering and analysis requirements.
You will support preparing business models for business cases and incentive campaigns and ensure alignment with business partners regarding overall objectives and areas of focus. You will also-
- Responsible for cost center management at a regional level to support in any questions regarding cost variances and budgeting.
- Periodic and Ad-hoc financial analysis and management reporting for business teams.
- Analyzes performance trends, comparisons to budget, and expense run rates to assess business risks or opportunities.
- Provides consistent budget updates and performance explanations for regional and country leaders
- Updates business models to prepare routine business cases.
- Develop reports by accessing information from various financial systems and company databases to build insights into business performance.
- Supports the preparation of operating plans and forecast for areas of focus.
- Strong interaction with business teams on all financial topics
- Acting as mini-CFOs and challenging business on business case assumptions
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, with 5-8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience for a Financial Analyst role).
- Mandatory Business Finance/FP&A experience with expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
- Proven ability to act as a strategic business partner, challenging assumptions, influencing stakeholders, and driving data-driven decision-making.
- Experience supporting new business initiatives, incentive planning, business case development, and financial performance management.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and Advanced Excel.
- Experience developing and maintaining baseline reporting, dashboards, and management insights.
- Experience with Oracle Essbase or other multidimensional database management systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to identify key business drivers, analyze performance trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve business outcomes.
Work Shift
Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.
