This Senior Manager, Category Management will be responsible for shaping and executing enterprise procurement strategies across Finance-related spending, including banking, payments, treasury services, and financial technology. Partners closely with Finance leaders to optimize third-party spending, improve cost-to-transact, and drive financial efficiency, leveraging scale to negotiate commercial models and deliver measurable savings. Leads global strategy execution, supplier governance, and performance alignment to support key financial objectives such as liquidity, working capital optimization, and digital payment innovation.
Role Responsibilities

Develop and execute category and spend management strategies supporting the Finance organization.

Partner with Finance, Treasury, Payments, and Accounting leaders to understand business needs and sourcing priorities.

Lead sourcing and supplier management activities for banking services, funds-in and funds-out operations, card programs, digital payment solutions, and finance technology platforms.

Conduct competitive sourcing events, contract negotiations, and commercial reviews to deliver cost savings and process efficiencies.

Analyze spend, supplier, and market data to identify optimization opportunities and support informed decision-making.

Manage supplier performance, governance, and relationship activities to ensure service quality, value delivery, and issue resolution.

Evaluate fee structures, pricing models, and commercial arrangements related to banking, payments, and other financial services.

Support procurement requirements for new business initiatives, technology implementations, and operational changes within the Finance organization.

Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements.

Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve procurement objectives, improve spend visibility, and realize measurable business value.
Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA preferred.

7–10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, Finance, or related business disciplines.

Experience supporting banking, treasury, payments, card programs, financial services, fintech, or finance technology categories preferred.

Demonstrated success leading sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier management activities.

Strong analytical, financial, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working in a complex, global, and matrixed environment.

Category Management Certification and/or Certified Professional Strategic Advisor (CPSA) preferred.

Work Shift
HYBRID – Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.

Salary
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $155,000 USD per year. Total on-target compensation includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
