Manager, Solution Engineering

Role Responsibilities

As a Manager, you will be responsible for implementing Site Reliability Engineering within Risk & Compliance applications. You will also –

• Supporting a variety of complex Risk and Compliance systems, infrastructure, and applications.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Define and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for critical systems and services.
• Establish and manage error budgets, ensuring alignment with business priorities and reliability goals.
• Manage our internal systems to ensure that critical infrastructure is operating optimally and implement mechanisms to prevent service impacting incidents.
• Utilize trends & metrics to identify opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools and processes to continuously improve systems.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into measurable reliability targets.
• Advocate for a reliability-first culture, balancing feature velocity with system stability.
• Develop automation tools and scripts (Python, Go) to eliminate manual tasks, streamline deployments, enable scaling, and provision infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues, performing deep Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and driving preventive measures.
• Design, build, and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana) to provide actionable insights into system health.
• Lead incident management processes and postmortem reviews for continuous improvement.
• Design and implement reliability strategies across systems to ensure high availability, faster recovery, and improved resilience.
• Engineer solutions to scale systems, optimize performance, and manage capacity for future growth.
• Collaborate with Development, Security, and Operations teams to embed reliability, security, and operational best practices throughout the software lifecycle.
• Execute success through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, and efficient decision-making.
• Interface and collaborate with other engineers in geographically distributed development centers.
• Strong emphasis on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous development
• Building, leading, and managing a high-performing team of engineers and leads.
• Hold regular 1 1s with direct reports, help them navigate challenges, and coach them for their career development.
• Be a culture champion on the team and across the company.

Role Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in engineering work, as well as minimum of 4 years of experience in leading engineering teams around SRE.
• Good software development background in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Excellent understanding of monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Grafana) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, networking, and security principles.
• Good technical skills in architecture patterns, solutions design, and integration development.
• Familiarity with integrations, APIs
• Data Structures, Design Patterns, algorithms
• Good experience with DevOps tools such Jenkins/Gitlab CI, Jfrog Artifactory, Sonar, Gradle, Ansible, Docker, Rundeck or Ansible Tower and AWS services
• Good knowledge of databases including Relational Data Design, NoSQL & Big Data technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for managing both direct and indirect talent effectively.
• Overseeing technical analysis, cost and effort estimation, production environment platform/system design, architectural fit and compliance, resource schedules, delivery milestones, collaboration, and overall production environment quality.
• Good acumen in designing, building, deploying, and operating cloud systems, as well as resolving critical issues
• Collaborate with other teams and engineers to find innovative solutions for moderately complex problems.

• Excellent decision-making and collaboration skills.
