In this critical role, you will be managing large accounts and accountable for prospecting, negotiating, signing contracts with new agents, collecting required documents, submitting complete full packages, driving the activation process and training the location.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible account manager for large accounts with a focus on growth in revenue
  • Responsible for owned store strategy and execution, ramp up and open, as well as operate own Western Union stores to ensure they achieve full revenue potential.
  • Manage and grow team of FLAs throughout owned stores with a focus on transaction and revenue growth
  • Makes regular visits to high performing locations and identifies and addresses issues within the current network
  • Accountable for meeting productivity targets and overall revenue of all locations within territory and manage Agent lifecycle in territory.

Role Requirements:

  • To be successful in this role you will have at least 6-7 years (including 2-3 years’ experience leading teams) of sales and business development experience in Remittance, Digital Payments and Banking industries.  Experience in direct-to-consumer payments across retail channels and digital channels is highly desirable.   
  • You have a detailed understanding of the Japanese market, consumer trends, and remittance business overall.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and listening skills required.  Able to gain the trust and confidence of clients.  Comfortable handling multiple assignments; identify and accomplish priorities in order of importance; able to promptly adjust actions based on changing priorities.
  • Previous experience in outside sales or service of consumer products or financial services is a plus.   Good knowledge of products and agents’ industry/market, and good business/financial understanding.
  • You can speak fluent Japanese and English and able to bridge the gap between American and Japanese style business practices.
