Role Responsibilities
Senior Manager, New Zealand and Pacific Islands Region, Auckland, NZ
Western Union moves money across more than 200 countries and territories in nearly 130 currencies, connecting to billions of bank accounts, millions of digital wallets and cards, and a global footprint of hundreds of thousands of retail locations.
The Country Leader, New Zealand and Pacific Islands will be responsible for leading the strategy execution and business operations in the New Zealand and Pacific Islands region. You will work closely with the leadership team to develop, execute the strategy, and ensure that the region is meeting its targets for revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Regional Vice President ‘Japan, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands’ based in Sydney, Australia, you'll occasionally travel within the region and globally and be responsible for the followings:
- You will execute Western Union strategic plan to grow the business in the New Zealand and Pacific Islands region.
- You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations within the New Zealand and Pacific Islands region.
- You are an expert at analyzing market trends and customer insights to support business strategies and decisions.
- You will drive revenue growth by developing and implementing sales, marketing, product and pricing strategies.
- You will oversee the entity in New Zealand and the region P&L.
- You will lead and motivate a small high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer experience.
- You will develop existing and new client partnerships, nurture relationships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, efficiencies, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain relationships (including at C-suite level) with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and customers.
Role Requirement
- You have extensive years of relevant experience managing/leading a small to medium geography or specific function such as marketing, business development, or operation across a country.
- You are a visionary leader who can bridge strategic planning with hands-on execution to deliver products in market and financial results.
- Strong business acumen with a proven track record of advancing product offerings and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing complex projects, digital product delivery, leading cross-functional teams, customer centric and hands-on mindset.
- You are not afraid of getting your hands dirty and getting into the trench to drive the results and business.
Work Shift
Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.
