As an Associate – QE Shared Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, stability, reliability, and operational readiness of shared test environments supporting multiple application platforms and delivery teams. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, environment lifecycle management, automation, process optimization, and adherence to ITIL-based operational standards to accelerate quality service delivery.
You will work closely with development, quality engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and operations teams to maintain healthy test ecosystems, minimize environment downtime, and improve testing efficiency through automation, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
• Ensure high availability and operational readiness of shared test environments across multiple platforms and applications.
• Monitor environment health, performance, capacity, and utilization through proactive monitoring tools and dashboards.
• Manage environment provisioning, refreshes, configuration updates, and maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to testing teams.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain automated sanity and health-check suites to validate environment readiness and application stability.
• Manage and support environment management tools, monitoring utilities, dashboards, and automation frameworks.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve environment-related issues, coordinating with infrastructure, cloud, network, database, security, and application support teams.
• Perform root cause analysis for environment outages and recurring issues, driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Implement process improvements to enhance environment stability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to ITIL best practices for Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, and Service Operations.
• Maintain environment documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and knowledge repositories.
• Work independently on simple to moderately complex environment management initiatives and operational projects.
Role Requirements
• B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Test Environment Management, Production Support, Application Support, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Operations, or Quality Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technology issues.
• Experience supporting enterprise-level test or non-production environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills & Expertise
Environment Management
• Experience managing and supporting multiple QA, UAT, SIT, Pre-Production, and Shared Test Environments.
• Knowledge of environment provisioning, environment refresh strategies, and release coordination.
• Familiarity with application dependency mapping and environment readiness validation.
Monitoring & Automation
• Experience with proactive monitoring tools and alerting frameworks.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated sanity checks, health validation scripts, and environment monitoring utilities.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation using Shell Script, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
• Experience creating operational dashboards and reporting solutions.
Cloud & Infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with AWS Services including EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, Load Balancers, and other core cloud services.
• Understanding of cloud-based application hosting and infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with container-based environments and orchestration platforms is desirable.
UNIX/Linux Administration
• Experience with log analysis, process management, file systems, service monitoring, and performance troubleshooting.
• Ability to analyse system-level issues and coordinate resolution across teams.
ITIL & Service Operations
• Understanding of ITIL processes including:
• Incident Management
• Problem Management
• Change Management
• Release Management
• Service Request Management
• Experience managing operational activities within defined SLAs and service delivery frameworks.
Database & Middleware
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to perform data validations, troubleshoot data-related issues, and support environment refresh activities.
• Basic understanding of middleware and application integration components.
Collaboration & Tools
• Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, and related operational platforms.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile and distributed delivery models.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Shared Services or Centralized Test Environment Management teams.
• Exposure to DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Operations practices.
• AWS Cloud Certifications and ITIL
Work Shift
