Senior Manager, Strategic Program Management Office (PMO) – Denver, Colorado (Hybrid)

As the Senior Manager within the Strategic Program Management Office (PMO), you will play a critical role in driving alignment, execution discipline, and delivery excellence across enterprise technology and business programs. This role is ideal for a highly organized, strategic thinker who excels at cross‑functional leadership, portfolio planning, and ensuring consistent, predictable delivery across a diverse program landscape.
You will oversee complex, multi‑department technology initiatives; partner closely with product, engineering, operations, compliance, and senior business leaders; and ensure programs advance enterprise priorities. This includes supporting portfolio governance, facilitating executive‑level reporting, and maturing PMO standards, tools, and processes. You will manage a team of U.S.‑based project and program managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of program and project managers, providing coaching, development, and consistent operational leadership.
- Oversee planning, execution, delivery, and governance of large technology and business programs.
- Develop and maintain portfolio‑level dashboards, reporting, and metrics to support executive decision‑making.
- Drive annual and ongoing planning cycles, portfolio prioritization, and capacity alignment.
- Support the development and evolution of PMO methodologies, standards, templates, and governance frameworks.
- Provide clear, concise, executive‑ready communication on program health, risks, issues, dependencies, and achievements.
- Facilitate cross‑functional alignment between product, engineering, operations, compliance, finance, and strategy teams.
- Identify and mitigate program risks; proactively resolve issues impacting scope, timeline, or budget.
- Champion continuous improvement, operational rigor, and data‑driven program management.
- Ensure all programs adhere to enterprise delivery models (Agile, SAFe, hybrid, waterfall, etc.).
- Contribute to roadmap planning, sequencing, and strategic portfolio design.
- Promote a strong outcomes‑driven culture tied to enterprise priorities.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in project/program management, portfolio management, or PMO leadership.
- 5+ years of people management experience required.
- Experience with Jira or other similar project management tools required.
- PMP, PMI‑ACP, SAFe, or similar certifications preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Ability to interpret and adapt PMO standards to new or complex situations.
- Proven ability to influence, motivate, and align cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, prioritization, and organizational development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation abilities, with experience preparing executive‑level materials.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including evaluating program performance and recommending improvement actions.
- Experience managing and developing high‑performing technology‑focused teams.
- Knowledge of program financials, budgeting cycles, and portfolio cost management.
- Familiarity with Agile and SAFe delivery frameworks.

Salary
The base salary range is $155,000.00 – 165,000.00 USD Annual USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus annual incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
