The Sr. Specialist, Business Analyst is an intermediate individual contributor role that works closely with Agents, Sales, Business Analysts, Global KYA procedure owners, KYA Operations, and Regional Operations functional leaders to execute the program and resolve inquiries across various aspects of the KYA process. The overall objective is to manage KYA recertifications with Agents and maintain required progress on the KYA/KYCC Recertification plan. 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Handles due diligence documentation for prospective and existing Western Union Agents. 

  • Manages email and phone communication with Agents. 

  • Schedules and conducts live video conferences with Agents via Zoom. 

  • Conducts calibration sessions and refresh training events for Agents. 

  • Serves as a single point of contact for Agents during onboarding and recertification events, ensuring the best Agent experience. 

  • Coordinates all KYA-related activities with regional business teams. 

  • Participates in regular follow-up meetings with key stakeholders (Regions, Global KYA, ROCs Agent Implementation, Compliance, Legal, etc.). 

  • Creates and maintains dashboards and reports using Power BI for operational insights and management updates. 

  • Develops and automates reporting processes using Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables) and VBA macros to improve efficiency. 

  • Extracts and analyzes data from SQL databases to monitor KYA/KYCC progress and identify trends or risks. 

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design data models and ensure data integrity for reporting tools. 

  • Works to ensure adherence to KYA/KYCC execution plans, including daily monitoring of progress. 

  • Handles reinstatement requests and related issues. 

  • Monitors reporting tools daily to ensure data accuracy. 

  • Provides up-to-date reporting to upper management on operational results, accomplishments, and risks. 

  • Owns and drives identification and resolution of general process issues and risks and proposes action plans. 

  • Liaises with Local & Global Compliance, Legal, and Business when required. 

  • Collaborates on strategic projects as a Subject Matter Expert of KYA/KYCC. 

  • Utilizes creative problem-solving and solid decision-making abilities to solve issues. 

  • Follows up on pending packet submissions. 

 

Role Requirements 

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, compliance, or business analysis. 

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). 

  • Experience with VBA for automation of repetitive tasks and reporting. 

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and analysis. 

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and visualization. 

  • Excellent communication skills (email, phone, video conferencing). 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory processes is a plus.
