In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of Western Union International Bank’s regulatory strategy, acting as the key liaison with the FMA and other European regulators and ensuring our business stays ahead of evolving compliance requirements. You’ll shape how we respond to regulatory changes, advise senior leaders, and help launch new products and markets with confidence. Your expertise will safeguard our operations and strengthen trust with regulators and stakeholders. 

 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Austrian and European regulators, managing clear and timely communications. 

  • Monitor regulatory developments across EEA jurisdictions, assess their impact on Western Union International Bank (WUIB), and provides advice to the implementation efforts performed by the respective functional owners. 

  • Lead the Regulatory Compliance Monitoring Program, ensuring timely and accurate adoption of new or amended requirements. 

  • Provide expert regulatory advice to senior management and business units, supporting initiatives and projects to maintain compliance. 

  • Partner with Legal and control functions to review new products and market entries, ensuring alignment with current and upcoming regulations. 

  • Deliver regular reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Committee and communicate key updates to stakeholders. 

  • Training of senior management including Fit&Proper training 

 

Role Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within financial services or banking. 

  • Strong knowledge of Austrian banking regulation and supervisory frameworks. 

  • Excellent communication skills to engage with regulators and internal stakeholders. 

  • Ability to analyze complex regulatory changes and translate them into actionable steps. 

  • Collaborative mindset and experience working with cross-functional teams. 

  • Fluency in English and German.

Salary 

We are legally required to indicate the minimum salary, which is EUR 82,500 gross per year for this position. However, our attractive compensation packages follow current market salaries and can therefore be significantly above the indicated minimum.
