As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for a variety of functions in Digital Banking and Digital Settlement Accounting as team members support, support to management with reconciliations, exceptions resolutions, and solving escalations providing support to team members and compliant with financial regulations.
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile complex subledger accounts daily and solve differences timely.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand inputs and assumptions that serve as the basis for all General Ledger entries.
- Support and resolve complex business and daily settlement accounting operations escalations.
- Ensures SOX compliance with key controls according to USGAAPS and internal policies.
- Comply with Western Union Internal policies and applicable regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
- Be a strategic team player in performing root cause analysis and driving process improvement in the effort to minimize manual steps.
- Lead and/or participate in projects related to settlement accounting operations.
- Metrics creation, analytical reporting, and dashboards for Digital Banking and Digital expansion.
Role Requirements
- University bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance. CPA would be considered a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant working experience preferably with operational accounting experience like account reconciliations, accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Proven experience leading and testing projects as well as stakeholders’ management.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- High- sense of urgency, proactivity, teamwork, and strong written and verbal communication skills (B2 level minimum).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to details. Ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Knowledge in Power BI is a plus.
