In this role you will serve as a member of the FIU’s Typology Investigations & Strategic Analysis (TISA) team, responsible for conducting in-depth investigations and research of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Terrorist Financing risks that may affect Western Union and their customers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for investigating the highest risk consumers and risk issues.

  • Uses various investigative methods, tools, and independent decision making to determine if activity is suspicious and applicable risk mitigation actions.

  • Clearly and concisely documents and communicates work status, investigative findings, risk factors and decisions, and risk mitigation actions through both written and verbal mediums.

  • Drafts and processes applicable risk mitigation actions, including Suspicious Activity Reports and other regulatory reports, and share investigative and intelligence findings with colleagues at all levels of Western Union FIU management.

  • Interact and maintain relationships with various stakeholders within the organization to gather critical information for decision making.

  • Complete required training and stay informed of AML and Terrorist Financing trends and threat issues.

  • Review ad-hoc queries related to AML compliance issues.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Familiarity with any of the following: Bank Secrecy Act, AML Compliance, general and/or risk-based compliance, yielding a comprehensive understanding of technology and best practices in the compliance field.

  • At least one year of relevant experience or training conducting financial crime investigations or threat finance analysis in a national security, law enforcement, financial, intelligence, and/or academic organization; or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills; thrives in the gray area.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite; advanced working knowledge/experience with Excel (including functions, pivot tables and charts).

  • Experience with i2 Analyst Notebook, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI and/or SQL is a plus.

Salary 

The on-target earnings range is $72,900 – $91,800 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
