Senior Specialist, Settlement Accounting Operations

As a Senior Specialist you will be responsible for a variety of functions in Digital Settlement Accounting to perform complex settlement accounting tasks, ensuring the daily / monthly operational KPIs are met, provide high quality and timely support to complex requests. Participates in the projects related to settlement operations, identifies, and initiates constant improvements of the settlement operation processes, ensures the controls of the processes comply with financial regulations.
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for reconciliation processes and completing more complex daily settlement operations tasks with high accuracy, ensuring KPI’s are met.
- Provide high quality and timely responses to partners and business stakeholders.
- Participate and represent the function in different projects and initiatives.
- Identify and initiate constant process improvements.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with company’s rules and regulations.
- As subject matter expert supporting the team with various issues and escalations.
- Ensure SOX compliance with key controls according to USGAAPS and internal policies.
- Comply with Western Union Internal policies and applicable regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
Role Requirements
- University bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance or advance university student. CPA would be considered a plus.
- 4+ years of relevant working experience preferably with operational accounting experience like account reconciliations, accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Proven experience to manage complex processes and reconciliations. As well as supporting and testing projects.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- High- sense of urgency, proactivity, teamwork.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills required (B2 level minimum).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to details. Ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Knowledge in Power BI is a plus.
