The Head of Farming, Canada oversees account management, marketing, sales, and overall network performance, including transaction volume, revenue, distribution channels, merchandising, and service quality across complex Designated Marketing Areas (DMAs). This role leads a large, diverse team, sets strategic direction, and drives execution to deliver strong financial and operational results.
Responsible for target setting, budgeting and forecasting, and identifying network development opportunities for retail agents within the country/territory, aligned with RVP guidance. Directly manages 2-8 team members and indirectly oversees 15-25. Leads recruiting, coaching, developing, and motivating the sales organization. Develops and implements sales strategies at the country level to support growth.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead field sales teams across Canada to exceed Signing and Activation goals, leveraging market data and company reporting to optimize performance and capture market opportunities.
- Manages a team of Account Executives and Territory Sales Executives, including hiring, training, performance management, and day-to-day coaching.
- Develop and execute strategic plans focused on revenue and profit growth through effective team leadership, prioritization, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance regulations, codes, standards, and requirements are understood and reinforced across the team and agent network.
- Oversee all channels, brands, products, account management, marketing, sales, and overall performance within Canadian DMAs, delivering on transaction volume, revenue, distribution, merchandising, and service quality targets.
- Manage the Sales and Development expense budget to achieve plan.
- Revenue accountability of $25M–$50M annually; oversee an agent network of approximately 2,000–5,000 locations. Partner with Product to recommend pricing and commission adjustments and with Finance to present business cases ensuring ROI.
- Acquire new agents, maximize same-store sales, retain and expand key agent relationships, and reduce agent attrition.
- Drive country-level sales strategy, identify network development opportunities, and recruit agents nationwide.
- Lead, motivate, coach, and mentor a team of field sales to achieve and exceed sales and performance targets.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or a related field; previous experience in sales management preferred.
- At least 8–10 years of professional experience, including 2–3 years managing large teams.
- Strong understanding of product, industry, and agent/retail operations, including business drivers and partner priorities.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including profit margins, commission structures, and ROI analysis.
- Ability to interpret and apply market trends and financial reporting to guide decisions and adapt actions based on changing priorities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
- Prior experience in the supermarket, mass merchandising, or check-cashing industries is preferred.
- Prior money transfer or financial services experience is an asset.
- Travel required approximately 40–50% within Canada.
- Valid Driver’s License required for regular travel within the assigned territory.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $140,000 – $155,000 CAD per year, which includes a base salary plus a high-impact commission structure and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
