This role exists to deliver on Western Union’s ‘ecosystem’ strategy in Australia. This ecosystem strategy centers around launching new products beyond remittances, thereby meeting more of our customers’ financial needs.
Australia is the priority market; however, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to work on programs for other markets in Asia Pacific, too.
Reporting to the Senior Manager– Digital and Ecosystem, Asia Pacific, this successful candidate will be required to manage and own all aspects of the program including facilitating design and build of new user experiences, defining business requirements, coordinating regulatory licensing and associated compliance programs, commercial relationships with suppliers, launch plans, internal management reporting, pricing and ongoing customer lifecycle management.
Role Responsibilities:

Coordinate development of customer value propositions including pricing, operational servicing settings for new feature and functionalities

Define and document product requirements, features, and functionality via ownership and development of JTBD, User Journeys, BRD/PRDs.

Draft business requirements and workflows, prioritise roadmap features, author Epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborate with the regional team to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications.

Supporting the negotiation with digital and ecosystem partners/suppliers including the execution of large, complex multi-year critical supplier relationship deals and ensuring that the deals make commercial sense for both suppliers and Western Union

Supporting the initiation of streams of work with internal legal, compliance and regulatory teams to get license applications with regulatory bodies were required to offer a product.

Initiate optimization work with operational teams and oversee the design of processes and systems to service the customer base on these new products.

Project manages new build and feature initiatives within a multi-stakeholder team.

Work closely with the entire compliance and risk management organisation to ensure the products have the correct compliance and risk management settings to operate within tolerances

Find ways to solve problems through payments, compliance, legal, operational matters which arise from time to time.

Develop substantive reporting to management on progress during build phase. Work with marketing to design customer acquisition strategies: initiate the production of go-to-market plans by marketing stakeholders.

Assess opportunities by identifying ROI, define key performance indicators and partner with analytics team to measure success.

Provide ongoing analysis on product effectiveness using a data driven approach.

Identifying key problems through vigorous testing of mobile and web customer platforms for us to solve to improve the customer experience and comply with local regulation.

Continuously implement and improve analytics infrastructure to track, monitor, optimise, innovate, and report on acquisition and conversion metrics.
Role Requirements:

Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with domestic and international payments. Experience can be gained through banks / financial services orgs, specialist payment companies, digital wallets or at domestic or international schemes.

The role will require product launch experience, operations experience, card scheme, risk and compliance management in any of the areas of domestic payments, wallets, cards, micro-lending and / or foreign exchange.

Advanced skills in identifying, negotiating and managing digital ecosystem partners in payments, cards, e-market places, KYC, cross border and infrastructure.

Experience supporting the build and launch of consumer applications both on web and mobile platforms including mobile and product management will be regarded well.

Strong business writing, numerical analysis, and communication skills especially in dealing with different vendors and stakeholders globally.

Basic understanding of systems development, including types of integrations (e.g. APIs), workflows and good implementation and scalability practice will be regarded well.

Experience developing basic wireframes and user journey flows.

Demonstrated skills to manage product features and release roadmaps/ planning across multiple markets.

Ability to work seamlessly with matrix teams, and juggle projects across multiple networks and platforms.

Experience in FinTech’s or financial services – working on digital wallets, transactional banking, payments, or remittances is a plus.
