Outsourcing Oversight Manager
Outsourcing Oversight Manager – Vienna-based (WUIB)
Do you care about making sure customers get the reliable, secure service they deserve — even when the work happens behind the scenes? At Western Union International Bank (WUIB), we’re on a mission to make financial services more accessible to people and communities everywhere. That means every part of our operation — including the services we outsource — must work seamlessly, securely, and with our customers in mind. We’re looking for someone who can help us keep those services running smoothly, transparently, and in line with our values. Join us as we continue to evolve our outsourcing model to meet changing customer and regulatory needs.
Western Union powers your pursuit.
In this role, you’ll oversee the outsourced services that support key parts of our financial ecosystem — helping ensure they run reliably, securely, and in line with our standards. By strengthening oversight and building trusted partnerships, you’ll help safeguard the quality and consistency of the services our customers rely on. Your work behind the scenes plays a vital role in expanding access to secure financial services across borders and communities. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the business in a regional and global environment — ideal for someone who wants to shape how we work with partners and protect the customer experience and manage regulatory expectations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Strengthen and evolve WUIB’s outsourcing oversight framework to meet regulatory standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain outsourcing policies and procedures, including risk assessment methodologies to ensure compliance and operational transparency.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to monitor service performance and drive improvements.
- Lead regular reviews of outsourcing agreements and service level commitments.
- Support teams with expert guidance on outsourcing matters and help define KPIs to measure efficiency and risk.
- Identify and address service issues, maintain oversight records, and contribute to internal control enhancements.
- Support strategic business initiatives to establish the relevant governance framework for new or changing outsourced services.
- Build strong partnerships with providers and represent the function as a member of the WUIB Risk Committee.
Role requirements:
- Experience in outsourcing oversight, risk management, internal controls, compliance or audit — ideally 7+ years, but we welcome diverse backgrounds with transferable skills.
- A pragmatic mindset — able to balance regulatory requirements with real-world solutions that work for teams and customers.
- Dynamic and adaptable — comfortable navigating change and driving improvements in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of European financial regulations (e.g. EBA Outsourcing Guidelines, CRR/CRD, PSD, MiFID, DORA) — and a willingness to learn and grow in this area.
- Familiarity with retail banking products and operations is helpful, but not essential.
- Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage but not a requirement.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills — you enjoy working with others to solve problems.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and working with data.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 25%) as part of a supportive and connected team.
