In this role, you’ll oversee our internal translations team and manage the relationship with our external vendor partner. This critical role ensures the delivery of high-quality, timely, and cost-effective translation services across all global markets and all business functions.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing internal team of translators and localization specialists.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, career development planning, and team-building activities.
- Manage administrative tasks including time tracking, resource planning, and budget oversight.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external translation vendors.
- Ensure vendor performance aligns with contractual obligations, SLAs, and SOWs.
- Monitor quality, turnaround times, and cost efficiency, drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the main liaison between the translations team and internal stakeholders across departments.
- Gather and analyze business needs to develop a strategic localization roadmap.
- Forecast translation needs and associated costs based on stakeholder input and business growth.
- Oversee and optimize translation workflows, tools, and processes.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Resolve escalations and remove blockers for the internal team.
Role Requirements
- Proven experience in localization or translation management, ideally in a global context.
- Familiarity with translation management systems (TMS), CAT tools, and localization platforms.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Budgeting and cost forecasting experience is a plus.
- Multilingual proficiency is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
