In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and building lasting relationships with local and regional brands and agencies through the development of tailored media solutions that meet the marketing goals of regional clients. This role will specifically target U.S. regional and local businesses, creating holistic, cross-channel digital media campaigns across display, OLV, CTV, and DOOH media channels. Keys to success will include building strong relationships with influential regional stakeholders, unlocking local advertising revenue, and delivering exceptional campaigns that align with client objectives. This role requires an understanding and interest in leveraging the power of local, community-based data & advertising channels to deliver meaningful value. A strong digital media sales acumen and the ability to create comprehensive local or regional media strategies across multiple channels are also a must.
Role Responsibilities
Local & Regional Sales Business Development
- Actively prospect and secure new advertising partnerships with regional and local brands and agencies, driving revenue across Western Union's digital media channels, including display, OLV, CTV, and DOOH.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow advertising partnerships with local and regional brands through outreach, relationship building, and sales presentations.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers at regional brands and agencies to unlock new revenue opportunities and increase advertising spend.
- Manage and grow a robust sales pipeline of regional prospects, ensuring consistent outreach and follow-up to move opportunities through the sales cycle.
- Meet or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the regional sales team by achieving revenue goals.
Campaign Strategy & Media Proposal Creation
- Develop and pitch integrated, multi-channel media campaigns that combine display, OLV, CTV, and DOOH to meet the specific goals of regional clients.
- Work with clients to understand their business objectives and craft campaigns that leverage Western Union's portfolio of media solutions to drive awareness, engagement, and performance.
- Ensure campaigns are tailored to regional market needs, incorporating local insights and audience targeting to maximize impact.
- Create compelling, data-driven sales pitches and media proposals, ensuring that they align with the client’s business goals and demonstrate the value of cross-platform advertising.
- Respond to RFPs and media briefs from regional agencies and brands, tailoring proposals that meet the unique needs and budget requirements of local advertisers.
- Present media plans and proposals to clients in a clear and engaging manner, highlighting key insights, audience targeting, and expected campaign outcomes.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with Account team to craft detailed media proposals and ensure the seamless execution of campaigns once they are sold.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Ad Operations, Analytics, and Sales Enablement, to ensure smooth campaign delivery and optimization.
- Work with the product and marketing teams to ensure that campaigns align with company offerings and are supported by the latest insights, creative assets, and media technologies.
Client Engagement & Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regional clients throughout the sales cycle, from initial outreach to campaign execution and post-campaign follow-up.
- Develop strong, consultative relationships with clients by understanding their marketing objectives and continuously providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Provide clients with ongoing campaign performance reports, showcasing key metrics and insights to demonstrate campaign effectiveness and ROI.
- Recommend optimization opportunities based on data-driven insights, and help clients adapt their campaigns for maximum impact.
Role Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in digital advertising sales, media partnerships, or business development.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven track record of selling digital media solutions, preferably in commerce media, programmatic advertising, or retail media across display, OLV, CTV, and DOOH channels, with a strong understanding of multi-channel advertising strategies.
- History of meeting or exceeding quotas and receiving positive customer feedback.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with regional and local brands and agencies, securing long-term partnerships and driving ad sales revenue.
- Experience creating and presenting customized media proposals and sales pitches based on client needs.
- Knowledge of the regional advertising landscape, local market trends, and consumer behaviors.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers at all levels.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and campaigns simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and media planning/analytics platforms.
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for regional media campaigns.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline of regional prospects, ensuring consistent lead generation and deal closure.
- Create high-quality, customized sales materials, including pitches, proposals, media plans, and RFP responses, tailored to local and regional clients and agencies.

Salary
The annual gross base salary range is $110,000.00 – $145,000.00 USD per year. This role is also eligible to receive commission that aligns with individual performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
