The role of Director, Core Financial Services Technologies is an instrumental role in Western Union technology organization, taking responsibility over corporate technologies including Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, BlackLine, Noetix reporting, FIS Data Integrity Manager (formerly IntelliMatch) and some smaller systems. This role will be responsible for providing governance for our existing global team distributed across Lithuania, USA, Costa Rica and India, as well as leading the insourcing of labor from various vendors and building our corporate technology competence center. Role’s responsibilities involve leadership, strategic planning, and technical oversight to ensure the successful implementation, maintenance, and optimization of technology. It will be reporting to Head of Core Financial Services Technologies in Lithuania. This person is expected to operate autonomously in many situations by making decisions, pushing progress, and communicating the decisions to the CIO and subsequently to the organization. We would like our new colleague to operate in a highly collaborative manner across a diverse set of stakeholders and operational owners but also disrupt and overcome a culture of consensus decision making.
Role Responsibilities

Align Technologies Strategy with CIO organization strategy. Develop operating plans to implement the strategy and working with CIO management team identify what each department needs to do to make the strategy work.

Lead the execute Core Financial Services Technologies portfolio management, strategic alignment, and performance monitoring.

Act as the primary point of contact between the IT team and business stakeholders for technology matters. Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of technology projects and operations.

Define the overall strategy for technology implementation, upgrades, and integration with other systems aligning with business objectives.

Collaborate with senior executives to develop IT strategies that drive business value.

Identify opportunities to optimize business processes using technology solutions.

Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and system administrators.

Recruit, train, and mentor team members to build a high-performing technology team.

Provide architectural guidance and ensure the system design aligns with enterprise architecture standards.

Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of technology systems. Develop and enforce policies for data governance, access control and system compliance.

Stay updated with the latest technology features, tools, and technologies to leverage new capabilities. Identify and implement the best practices to optimize technology processes and workflows. Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies (e.g., Oracle Cloud ERP, AI, machine learning) for future enhancements.

Ensure systems comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Identify and mitigate risks related to technology operations and data security.
Role Requirements

10+ years of experience in Oracle technology industry with specific background in functional strategy, program management, operations, and/or technology functions.

At least 5+ years’ experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing teams of developers, analysts, and administrators. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive large-scale ERP initiatives.

Expertise in configuring and customizing key Oracle EBS modules (e.g., Financials, Supply Chain, HRMS).

Experience with Oracle Database technologies (e.g., PL/SQL, database architecture).

Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and tools.

Knowledge of integration tools (e.g., Oracle SOA Suite, APIs, Web Services).

Understanding of integration with third-party applications.

Preferred any certification of Oracle E-Business Suite (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional), Oracle Cloud ERP or Oracle Applications certifications.

Awareness of Oracle’s evolving product roadmap, including migration paths to Oracle Cloud ERP.

Familiarity with trends in ERP systems, AI, machine learning, and automation for continuous improvement.

Extensive experience in global companies with several business verticals.

Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or Information Technology.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Deep understanding of all aspects of a technology organization.

Experience in managing ~100M and larger budgets in a highly complex and matrix environment.

Strong understanding of core business processes (e.g., finance, procurement, HR).

Ability to easily bridge teams, building collaboration and seamless touch points.

Salary
The monthly gross base salary range is 5,483 – 9,138 EUR. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
