Senior Software Engineering Architect (Integration and Emerging Technologies)

Work with engineering and business partners to define and build out complex solutions driving value through business process simplification, automation and new product capabilities and innovations. Assess business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards. Lead system design and implementation and be the subject matter expert of domain. Collaborate with peer and cross functional teams across the globe. Strong focus on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous development. Provide best-in-class API and integration solutions using microservices architecture. Establish software application standards as well as engineering application integration with other systems across the enterprise. Define, document, communicate, and implement technical and architectural requirements for current and next-generation systems and orchestrations following an API-led microservice approach. Conduct pre-implementation and design reviews for other team members and groups to assure quality software construction and to avoid duplication of efforts in solving the same problems across projects. Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into the enterprise architecture. Design and implement scalable architecture systems for TIBCO and MuleSoft-based applications, identifying the hardware and software infrastructure needs to accommodate the company's architectural goals. Provide DevOps expertise to create, deploy and maintain CI-CD pipelines following WU standards. Position allows for telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. and reports to HQ in Denver. Salary: $161,886 – $219,901 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Architect or any occupation/position/job title involving software engineering architecture.

Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience utilizing computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, OOPS, and OOA/D; 3 years of professional experience utilizing modern programming languages including Java, and design patterns; 3 years of professional experience building a microservices based architecture, platform developed, and deployed at scale; 3 years of professional experience utilizing TIBCO or MuleSoft integration suites, Java/J2EE, XML, JSON, Kafka, event-driven architecture, API design (including REST/SOAP), web technologies, and web services; 3 years of professional experience with Agile development methodologies, test driven development (TDD) and CI (Continuous Integration) /CD (Continuous Delivery); and 3 years of professional experience utilizing Cloud based architecture designs and implementations including AWS, Azure, Google, or Hybrid.

Annual base salary gross:  $161,886 – $219,901 USD. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
